ABTEC Level 3 is a high-quality career-focused Grade 12 qualification grounded in the real world of work. It is a Vocational/Occupational qualification in Grade 11 and 12 for students who prefer hands on application learning to pure academics. It allows a learner-based approach with a flexible unit-based (modules) structure and knowledge applied to assignment-based assessments. Focus is on holistic development of the practical, inter-personal and thinking skills required to be successful in employment and higher education.
The course content focuses on the one career sector chosen by the student and is not to be confused with a typical 6-subjected academic grade12. Level 3 is available in 5 sizes from certificate to extended diploma, which allows progression to a SA university (also UK/USA university acceptance).
Level 3 extended diploma is equivalent to 3 A levels in the UK education system. Assessment is continuous through set assignments ( no examinations) to meet minimum criteria for pass, merit or distinction achievement.
